They say that variety is the spice of life. But maybe in cooking, spice is the spice of life. Oh wait. Maybe it's that a variety of spices is the spice of life... We may be overthinking this.

We are thrilled to launch a new collaboration with Curio Spice Co to zhuzh up your spice drawer with a zephyr of fresh, sustainable aromas and flavors. We're launching a Spice of the Month offering curated by Curio to bring one beautifully blended spice into your shares each month. The spices are thoughtfully chosen to be approachable and a good match for the seasonal produce and proteins that arrive in your shares.

Each spice will be offered as a one-time offering and will change month to month. We'll call out the new line up in the Spotlight email and help you round out a beautiful orchestra of spices in your home.

We're starting with the Aegean Salt blend which is super versatile and fresh:

Did I hear a "Bloody Mary" in there? Heck yes, Aegean salt! Now THAT is something the 17 unopened, dusty jars of cardamom pods that have been my drawer since the early aughts could never do!

Claire Cheney founded Curio Spice in 2015 out of an obsession for spices and the stories they tell. She hails from Massachusetts and Maine, where she learned to forage for wild foods and build her own curiosity cabinets. She went to Oberlin college where she cooked for 80-member
co-ops and studied food writing, then went on to work in specialty coffee and fine dining. As Curio’s blender-in-chief, she creates original blends for our Signature line inspired by her extensive travels to spice origins and studies time-honored blends for our Classic line. Honey Mustard Pork Tenderloin - It's rare that we get enough pork tenderloin to get into everyone's shares (I mean... there's only two per pig, folks) so we jumped at the chance. This is what I'll be doing.

Mushroom-Stuffed Pork Tenderloin - Wanna do something a lil' more involved? This will scratch that itch.

Spaghetti Con Fagiolini Alla Pugliese - Sounds fancy, eh? Less so when translated (spaghetti with green beans from Puglia) but still damn tasty.

Quick-Braised Fish With Baby Potatoes & Greens - Perfect for that pollock and the lovely braised greens from Goranson Farm. Also, I'm writing this and it is currently 61º so I'm craving this sort of warm, saucy goodness.

Salmon With Garlic Butter and Tomato Pasta - Yes. Yes please very much.
