Hello friends,

It's almost Hanukkah and we have some little joys for your holiday table. Brisket, soothing matzoh ball soup, sweet macaroons, delicious latkes and apple sauce, homey kugel, and salmon at breakfast (times two!). Supplies are limited on each so don't wait!

Holidays hit heavier this year, as everything feels so heavy and grim. Maybe celebrating in a storm is necessary, maybe it's restorative and maybe even an act of joyful defiance. Maybe it's is all the more reason to celebrate, to light our lights and lift each other up as we toast the humanity in all of us.

Green Chutney Fish in Banana Leaves - Bright and refreshing and dang tasty. (Tips for using banana leaves here.)

Traditional Ukrainian Borscht Recipe - Perfect dinner as the temps dip below freezing. There's no such thing as too much dill, IMO. Want to skip the meet? Even easier.

Garlic-Roasted Chicken Breasts - I love the whole, skin-on, bone-in chicken breasts we get from our buds at Tide Mill. They're just so versatile. Split them and toss 'em on the grill. Remove skin and bone and either lightly pound for cutlets or gently poach for a salad. On and on. But if you wanna bask in the glory of chicken-ness, keep 'em whole and cook 'em like Martha.

Saag Tofu (Tofu With Spinach, Ginger, Coriander and Turmeric) - I think we all need this after the gluttony of Thanksgiving. The braising greens mix that most of you are getting would be an excellent and flavorful sub for the spinach here, too.
