Housekeeping up first!

Reminder that after tomorrow and this Tuesday's orders, we are skipping the following week. What's that look like? It looks like this:

Orders will *not* process on Mon., Nov. 20 and there will be no deliveries on Sat., Nov. 25 or Tues., Nov. 28.
Next processing date will be Mon., Nov. 27 for orders that will be delivered on Dec. 2 and 5

Anyone else feeling the dueling sensations of delight and anxiety about Thanksgiving? As the day rapidly approaches, those that are hosting are triple checking shopping lists and trying to bang out as many to-dos as we can during waking hours. All the while, we're racking our brains to remember things we did last time that eased the pain as well as the pitfalls to avoid.

I know it's easy to say and will have nearly zero impact in the moment but here goes:

EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE.

Let this be your mantra. There's no such thing as perfection and no one will remember (or even notice?) that you didn't make the broccoli casserole this year or that the turkey skin didn't stay perfectly crispy (does it ever?).

Or maybe you're a guest this year? Lucky you! Bring your host a candle and something boozy or mock-boozy. Maybe bring a lil' bottle of Gravy Master that you'll quietly pass to the host as if you're fencing stolen jewelry. Ask if you can help with anything, even crowd control. (Why are there 12 people in the kitchen when the cook is nervously waiting for a second alone to use the Gravy Master?!) Top off peoples' glasses with responsible abandon. And effusively compliment the spread and the work that went into it.

One more reminder: whatever your role this year, be sure to steal some moments for yourself to look around and fully absorb just how dang lucky we are. Even if your uncle is driving you bananas. AND SAVE ROOM FOR AT LEAST TWO SLICES OF PIE.

Fingerling Potato Hash With Swiss Chard and Eggs - For me, hash is one of the most homie of dishes. More often than not, it gets relegated to "breakfast" status but I think it's one of the best dang dinners around.

Bacon and Egg Fried Rice - Fried rice, hash and frittatas are some of the best dishes to utilize whatever veg and protein you've got kicking around the fridge. They're easy, forgiving, flexible and crowd pleasing.

Shakshuka - MORE EGGS FOR DINNER, PLEASE. If you're getting the Terra Cotta marinara, use that instead of the can of tomatoes and you've got yourself a lil' flavor upgrade.

Baked Flounder Recipe With Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce - Fish, butter, garlic, lemon. Fin. (Although, I'd toss some capers in there, too.)
