Taylor Swift Plays Football

There are a couple events in the coming week and we have all the treats you need to keep you well fed during the festivities! Not only are we looking at Valentine's Day, The Super Bowl and Mardi Gras but today's Groundhog Day AND National Tater Tot day. What a time to be alive.

All these festivities call for good food and gathering good people. As always, your pals at Family Dinner are here for you. We have a Valentine's Day/T Swift Watch Party pop up live on the site.

Feeling fancy? We have caviar, lobster meat and triple creme brie.

Feeling couch comfy? How about a quart of chili, some buffalo dip and pulled pork?

PS: Whether you're a football fanatic or not, please do tune in to see Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl. Revel in the collective meltdown from the Internet that a woman has the audacity to watch football and support her partner.

Listening to the backlash and outright attacks on Swift would be fun and mildly humorous if it were such outright misogyny and belittlement. The vitriol against her is aimed at reminding women (and girls!) not to take up space. To remain small and stay in their lanes.

These are the same voices that still will not equate women's talents and contributions with mens. Who gender either of these at all. The folks who still insist on putting "woman" or "female" in front of words like "doctor" "engineer" "business owner" or "football fan". Again, it would be funny if it weren't entirely infuriating.

Though not a Swiftie myself, I admire the woman's art, how she shines the light of the power of women and girls and the fact that she had a measurable impact in the National economy with her recent tour. The woman takes up a lot of space.

What does this have to do with food? Almost nothing. But while you're scrolling through the trolls of the Internet having a collective tantrum and flaunting their fragility may I suggest some buffalo chicken dip?

The Easiest Crispy Pan-Seared Fish Recipe - I'm pretty sure I've posted this before but I made some cod with this from my share last week and it was so dang delicious and easy that I'm posting again. And probably will again. It would be perfect with hake. And quite good with some pickled veg as a garnish. I used some diced up pickled cherry bomb peppers. 🤤

Cheesy Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts - Some gussied up chicken breasts. I don't really need an excuse to add cheese but here's a good balm if you're feeling a bit shy about it: it's a great way to add flavor to chicken breast and to get those kiddos to eat some spinach.

Carrot-Parsnip Soup With Parsnip Chips - Perfect lunch or dinner for a seriously dreary weekend. Another version without a paywall here.

Blackened Mahi Mahi - Straight from the source! Pretend like it's summer and make some pineapple salsa to top your mahi and whip up some margs.

Nashville-Style Fried Fish Sandwiches - I don't know how I missed that this was thing but it sounds amazing. Consuming should result in sweating.

Ground Pork Stuffed Butternut Squash - Sweet pork, tart cranberries, salty and creamy feta... Sounds like a dang tasty filling for some winter squash.

Vegetarian Borscht - I love me some borscht. When done right, the beets' insane sweetness cuts through their earthiness and plays wonderfully with the vinegar, kraut and dill. Meaty version here.
