Flower Shares!
Flower shares are back and they're ready to brighten up your home and bring a smile to that mug of yours! The folks at Old Friends Farm will be picking and packing up field bunches and field bouquets each week and we will bring them right to your door! We are starting in Massachusetts for now but will have this up and running in Maine very soon.
New Product Alerts! We are expanding the store to bring you even more choices and selection. We have Frozen Salmon and Swordfish a la carte. We have a White Fish of the Week selection for you fish taco fiends (I see you and I am with you) . And we have all the fresh herbs you could want.
If you haven't visited the store in a while, pop on in! There's all kinds of fun new things. (No wine yet but you can bet your tuchus I'm working on it. The state of the world calls for more wine delivery. So much more wine.)

Strawberry and Celery Salad - Sometimes, I like to google random items in the share and see what others have made. I think this one might take the cake. I will definitely be trying this one though....
Pan Fried Oyster Mushrooms - For the Vegetarian Protein in the Wholes and Doubles, here's a very easy recipe to use with your oyster mushrooms! If you're feeling up for it you could also try a Cabbage and Mushroom Stir Fry or Herbed Mushroom Roast.
Tropea Onions - Erin and I get excited every season for these purple beauties. Try them on the grill or I might try this onion jam. Think about it on a burger, mmmm.
Braised Swiss Chard and Bacon - For anyone with a picky eater, add bacon to greens and they'll have to love it! Right?
Garlic Scape and Mushroom Toasts - Swap out with whatever cheeses or herbs you have.
Mediterranean Lamb Bowl - Use your cukes and lamb and whatever other veg you have lying around to make one of these delicious bowls!
Roasted Beets and Sauteed Beet Greens - My my grandmother and I proud and eat ALL of the beets! Greens and all :)

Garlic Scape Pesto - Scapes! These weird looking things are super tasty. Think chives meets garlic. The soon-to-be-flowering stalks are plucked from young garlic so the plant can focus its energy on producing the big, beautiful bulbs we get later in the year instead of a flower and a bunch of seeds. Lucky us that we get both scapes and bulbs. This is an easy way to use them and, amongst other uses, would go great as a base for...
...Pizza! We've got dough, ricotta, and pizza-friendly proteins and veg this week so we've set you up for a pretty sweet pizza night. For the dough, defrost overnight in the fridge and then a few hours before you plan to shape it, let it rise, covered, on your counter. It'll be way easier to work with.
Grilled Sausage With Potatoes And Garlic Scapes - Another excellent use of scapes is to simply grill them alongside some sausage.
Grilled Rainbow Trout with Chimichurri - I'm always jealous of the folks getting trout in shares. So delicious. This calls for fillet but could easily be done with the whole trout using a method like this for the cooking.
Whipped Ricotta Salad - Keeping it light? Kinda sorta given that I'd eat (way) more than my share of the whipped ricotta.
