Got all mushy right out of the gates. "Feeding our neighbors and filling our hearts?"

Normally you have to skip at least a paragraph to get to that nugget of sentimental gold.

One of our favorite non-profits, Community Cooks, is having their largest fundraiser of the year, Gone with the Gala and we would love your help.

For over 30 years Community Cooks has been providing homemade meals to our neighbors in need. Since they started they have provided hundreds of thousands of meals to vulnerable populations - it's incredible work.

And this Gala is virtual which means a) you don't have to get all gussied up to show up somewhere and b) 100% of your contributions goes toward their mission of feeding folks.

So. How can you help?

You can give to Gone with the Gala as an individual or with a business ad .

You can give them a follow on IG or Facebook, they're trying to get to 2,000 followers by June!

And finally keep your ears peeled for news about the forthcoming auction, with all kinds of goodies from your favorite companies. (like ours!)

*And yes, I meant keep your ears peeled. Eyes shouldn't be the only ones getting peeled. That's eye-litest and I won't stand for it.

Recipes

Some of you are getting THE FIRST ASPARAGUS OF THE SEASON. One of my favorite spring veggies as it takes to myriad types of cooking. My fav is to toss in some olive oil salt and pepper, throw them on the grill for 5-10 min. for some charred/charcoal action, pull them and drizzle with some more olive oil and a squeeze of lemon. 🤤 Would go great with some grilled salmon.

Salmon Teriyaki Bowls: We have this or something similar all the time in this household. Tasty and fast. And my wife is more than happy for me to nab her salmon skin.

Garlic Baby Bok Choy Stir Fry: And we're also serving something like this (or exactly this) alongside.

Sheet-Pan Sausages and Mushrooms With Arugula and Croutons: These French apple sausages from Yankee Farmer's Market are delicious. And since there're mushrooms and a spicy salad mix in most of our shares, I'm rolling with this recipe and simply subbing the Italian sausage and arugula with goodies from the black bag.
