Christmas in July
It's been a banner week here at Family Dinner! The crew got to celebrate at the Best of Boston soiree on Wednesday night. We got all gussied up, ate pickles on pizza, owned the dance floor, and didn't even get kicked out--success!
Last night we helped sponsor an event at the Curtis Library in Brunswick, ME with Sam Sifton from the New York Times. He spoke at length about the importance of local food and how cooking for someone is a radical act of love. I fangirled so hard I almost passed out.
To keep this party going, this week we are celebrating Christmas in July and we come bearing presents. Attached to each share this week is a little love note from us, thanking each of you for being a part of this community and for helping us chase this little dream. (ME & NH customers, Santa's sleigh broke down in the heat so you'll be getting yours next week.)

**TUNA! Some of you may have noticed a lot of tuna splashing into your shares in recent weeks. Well, it's because it's tuna season! Just like we need to give you all the best August tomatoes, we have to give you tuna as it is abundant and GORGEOUS right now. If you want to ration your tuna enjoyment, it freezes really well and will make for some excellent poke in September/October when tuna isn't as abundant.

Ground Beef Tacos - We probably had ground beef tacos from a kit once a week growing up. I could eat 10 of these. In fact, I have eaten 10 of these.
Tuna Tacos with Cilantro Lime Slaw - We're now in the thick of tuna season and Harbor got in some lovely bluefin that we're passing on to a good chunk of you. Tuna tacos are virtually no-cook and, following these tips, grilling keeps the oven from heating up your kitchen another 15º.
Steamed Fish With Lime and Chili - A showstopper meal that is super easy, incredibly tasty, and perfect for the whole black sea bass in shares. Sticky rice along with some dipping sauces (found towards the bottom of this page) verge on mandatory. And no need to be precious: we pretty much ditch the silverware for this dish.
Pasta With Swiss Chard Pesto [video] - We've kinda fallen in love with Carla Lalli Music. Had this a couple weeks ago and it was pretty excellent. And, incidentally, vegetarian!
Blistered Shishito Peppers - When in season, we have these on their own for weekend lunch, but they're also super versatile so throw on your tacos, in salads, on burgers!
