Super Bowl & Valentine's Day

Hey just a quick note!

We are hard at work getting your Super Bowl and Valentine's Day pop ups going.

For game day you can expect pulled pork and brisket from the Rusty Can, Buffalo Chicken Dip and Chili from Dear Annie, wings, tortilla chips and more. Drake Maye and his beautiful baby face approve. We'll be sending out some more details early next week.

Where have you BEAN all my life?

(I was recently gifted a book of Dad Jokes. You can expect the overall content of the newsletter to take a nosedive from here on out. Apologies in advance.)

This week, we have canned beans from Head Water Food Hub. These guys are supporting the work of over 200 small local growers and producers in our region. We're delighted to bring you these beans not just to diversify the veggie line up and make for a super easy supper, but because their mission and approach to food aligns with our own:

With the impending storm it seems like the perfect time to make some chili and settle into some Netflix. (I'd make a bean supper/Heated Rivalry joke here but that feels like a bridge too far.)

Recipes

Beef Chili With Bacon & Black Beans - I mean... this is a layup. Between what's in shares and what's in your pantry, you're chopping for a few minutes and then basically dump and stir. Well... I'm gonna char the tomatoes in my share instead of using the can. But that shall not get in the way of me generating and then consuming chili with as little effort as possible.

Juicy Broiled Burgers - I mean... this is a layup. Again. Are we making it too easy?! Ground beef or veggie burger, bacon, colby jack, onions, tomatoes, lettuce... Brioche buns for those wise souls who nabbed the Grain of the Week.

New England Fish Sandwich - Have we talked about the fish sandwich from J's Oyster in Portland? Probably. Erin, having recently had her maiden voyage to J's, proclaimed, "That is the best fish sandwich I've ever had." And, as someone who grew up on the North Shore, Erin has New England seafood dishes coursing through her veins.
