Let's take a dip!

There are few things I daydream of more than a perfect buffalo chicken dip. Buff dip, puppies and toppling the New World Order. That's about 98% of it.

That said, our Super Bowl Snacks site is LIVE! We have the dip, chili, Mei Mei dumplings, smoked meats from the Rusty Can and more. We don't sell the sweatpants or the group of 6 folks to come over and eat it all (and then help with dishes) but I wish we did.

Also this weekend I feel like a project. Something quiet, something requiring attention. In my book, that mostly just means soups and the sausage from Cold Spring Ranch and the beans you got last week and ready for that.

For the quiet and precise part, maybe some Hasselback sweet potatoes. Cooked this way they morph into a canvas for your caged in creativity. Crumble some sausage and cheese onto them, maybe some scallions and Jackson Pollock style whir of sour cream. Maybe we go Indian with a bit of crumbled curry tofu. Maybe we just turn on some reruns of Baywatch, dream of sunnier times and call them David Hasselhoff potatoes. Your call.

Sweet Potato Nachos - Everything you need to know about in order to make a decision on whether or not to make these is in that photo. Spoiler: you're making these.

Italian Sausage, Pear, Lentil and Watercress Salad - Putting this here more as a framework with which to consider sausage and fruit. This is one of my fav types of lunches. Cook of sausage whenever. Slice it along with apples or pears (or nothing), toss in some greens and a mustardy vinaigrette and you're eating quick, tasty and healthy.

Beer Battered Haddock Bites - This is worth getting the deep frying going. Classic New England appetizer at your finer seafood bistros.
