We are the Champiooons! (THANK YOU!)
Holy Heck we did it!
A few months ago, at the suggestion of our teammate Joe (kitchen alias "Jolo", not to be confused with his girlfriend Dolores "Dolo", or his brother Peter "Polo", also members of the Family Dinner team) we applied to the Rockland Trust Small Business Big Dreams competition. Over the course of the contest we received mentorship from Charlie, our coach, and his colleagues at Rockland. We honed our presentation and practiced a million times in front of Frank the Dog. It was a nerve-wracking and thrilling opportunity.
We just found out that we won the competition and the AMAZING $20,000 grant that goes with it!`
This is a game changer for us and we are so grateful to you for making it happen. Thanks to your support, we have far outgrown our wonderful space at Foundation Kitchen in Somerville, MA. This space has been our home for almost three years; it is an excellent incubator space for small companies and source of mentorship from the owners Ciaran and Tara. But we were exploding at the seams and needed to spread out and find out own space. This competition came at exactly the right time.
Your support and this grant have been transformative for Family Dinner, as we find a new home and continue growing. We are so excited to expand our mission of supporting small local farmers and purveyors. We'll be sure to share the journey with you over the next few months as we continue to bringing you the best local food around, with lots of love and lots of bad jokes.

Pasta and Kale: This could be served warm or cold as a pasta salad. The shape of the pasta from Deano's will make this a little less messy to eat outdoors than a typical spaghetti
Seared Scallops with Greens: Given that asparagus season has passed (come back, Gus! We miss you!) we will be replacing with greens.
Shaved Summer Squash Salad: You can use ricotta, feta, or haydari here. Enjoy!
