Slowly but Surely

Slowly but Surely

Good Morning!

It brings us SO MUCH joy to write this email and to be back at it! For those who don't know, we took a little break to try to ride out this storm. We're so thankful to be able to serve you again. A few things before we get into the fun stuff:

This week we will do 630 deliveries. We normally aim to have Saturday deliveries to you by 1pm and Tuesday by 4pm. These windows will likely be expanded, we are sorry for any delays!

Your logistics and email crew is also part of the very small packing crew. We promise to lovingly respond to any urgent emails once packing is done.

We still aren't taking bags or milk bottles back, we hope to get to the milk bottles NEXT week.

We are doing everything we can to be more efficient than last week with a smaller team. If you are new to Family Dinner and are curious about what we are doing to keep you, your family and our team safe, please check out this page on our website.  If you are curious what music we listen to while lovingly packing your shares, check out these sick jams.

NEWSFLASH.  We are IN LOVE with Alicia Keys around here.  We are thinking of just playing this jam on loop all day Saturday.

Much Love,

Erin, Tim and the Family Dinner Team

SLOWLY BUT SURELY

Author and Poet Anita Kizzan once said : "Spring will come and so will happiness. Hold on. Life will get warmer."

We think that's a nice thing to keep in mind. It's even nicer to see it when the sun begrudgingly peeks it head out and we can soak up some Vitamin D. The farms and growers are feeling that love too, as Spring finally starts to ramp up like someone's grumpy kid that doesn't want to get out of bed.

The fields at Clark Farm (pictured on Wednesday), and all the farms we work with are coming to life too. Tractors are vrooming through the dirt, starter plants are being plunked into the ground.  The time for Spring veggies is around the corner, we just need a few more weeks of patience, and potatoes.

While we wait, there are some really wonderful daily recipes coming out of New York Times Cooking. There is a referendum on soup that is really awesome (tl;dr: almost anything can be a soup).  Their recent recipes have not been recipes at all, more mash-ups if you will. They sing the praises of all the blank canvas foods we love here; frittata, fried rice, pizza, soup.

Boston-based America's Test Kitchen is in the same class. We subscribe to both and do what we can to lovingly support our friends at ATK. If you are not a member/subscriber - we totally recommend it.  It's worth the small investment and its nice to follow along, or just drool over the pretty pictures.
