Good afternoon, friends!

Another peach of a day served up to you by vengeful, spite-fueled New England weather gods.  What a delight.  We hope everyone is safe at home and off the roads.

To keep you cozy and warm we have created a Valentine's Day Pop Up to give you the warm, culinary fuzzies.  We're aware that Valentine's Day can be viewed as a corporate construct, just another way to shove nauseating jewelry commercials into your eyeballs until you pass out. But to us, it's an excuse to pour a glass of wine, crank some Pasty Cline, and cook a delicious meal in your sweatpants.

So we have for you:

Day Boat Scallops: These guys hail from Casco Bay. Day Boat Scallop season is just a few months long. The boats have to go in and come back same day, so these salty little pearls will come to you fresh. They are truly something special.

Fondue Kits from Local Goods Gathered: I'm not sure there is a thing on God's Green Earth I love more than melted cheese.

Alllllll the goodies from Fox & Knife: Fresh Pasta, Focaccia, Sauce, Fresh Ricotta from Chef Karen Akunowicz.

Salted Chocolate Mousse: I said SALTED. CHOCOLATE. MOUSSE. This stuff is impossibly delicious. I would quite honestly recommend getting two. This, and the chili crisp (condiment with the mostest) come from from the geniuses at Nightshade Noodle Bar.

Celeriac Soup - On a cold icy day, this is exactly what I'm dreaming about!

Rosemary Sunchoke Chips - Savory yumminess! 

Baked Pears - I've also done these by cutting in half, brushing the cut side with maple syrup, and placing cut side down in a dish to bake. They are so delicious, they will not last long! 

Crispy Salmon and Potatoes - One pan meal for the win!

Chicken & Mushrooms with Taleggio Polenta - There's something kinda magical about chicken and polenta in the winter and this is but one of many riffable iterations. Personally, I'd cook the chicken with the bone and the skin and toss some greens into the polenta.

Sole with Lemon-Caper Sauce - Classic. Just do it.

Cornmeal-Crusted Chicken Thighs with Jamaican Spice - Crispy chicken thighs 🤤.... you could change up or omit the spice but this gives me a welcome wisp of warmer weather.
 
Braised Bacon and Kale - This is one of those recipes that's great to have in your back pocket. Goes with just about anything, easy to put together and can be used with just about any hearty green.
 
Roasted Chicken with Clementines & Arak - This Yotam Ottolenghi recipe is a stone cold show stopper but also super easy. The smell of roasting chicken and fennel? The bright sweetness of the clementines? Dear god...
 
Slow-Cooker Vegetarian Chili With Sweet Potatoes - Little bit of prep and then you just set it and forget it. Come back 8 hrs. later and it feels like you cheated.
