You know it's almost Valentine's Day when your television and social media channels are a constant barrage of outdated, gender normative jewelry commercials. You know the ones; where women are reduced to Pac Man like figures hungry to chomp up diamonds at any cost because THAT'S how you show her you love her. Gross.

You won't find any of those vomit inducing, reductive tropes here my friends! Not today!

What you will find is the real way we show love around here; delicious, delicious food. Melted cheese, plenty of carbs and hand made chocolates.

Skip the fancy dinner out and let us bring the perfect Valentine's Weekend meals right to your door.

We have a fresh pasta and sauces from Chef Karen Akunowicz at Fox & the Knife (do NOT miss out on that cheese stuffed focaccia!), chocolates from Tick Tock chocolates, flourless chocolate cake from Forge Baking, double crème cheese, baguettes and more.

Oh! And making its debut we have an incredible seafood casserole from Brett Henry (maker of your favorite chili and buffalo dip!). A local classic stuffed with haddock, shrimp, scallops and lobster. (You may wanna get two.)

Get some folks you love around the table, and leave the world behind for a bit.

Recipes

Guajillo Chile Stew - I'm very excited for the dried guajillo peppers from Kitchen Garden Farm. Fruity (think dried raisins), a bit smoky with just a hint of spice, these are super versatile and there's a million recipes that use them but this one seems appropriate given the Sun. sports spectacle (spoiler: it's the Super Bowl).

Roasted Pork Chops with Parsnip and Apples - It's sheet pan roasting season! And also apples and parsnips season! Worlds colliding in a mosaic of ease and flavor. (Too much?)

Rutabaga as Dessert - Sounds nuts, I know but I need you to trust me... Google "rutabaga as dessert". Rutabaga, like the rest of its root veg cousins, have a boatload of natural sweetness. And when treated properly, it provides the backbone for many a baked good. A sampling: Swede (Swede = rutabaga, btw) Nutmeg Cake with Brown Butter Frosting, Apple-Rutabaga Cobbler. You can thank me later.
