House Warming at the Farm

Good morning!

Please meet Stacey and Alex, owners of Iron Ox Farm in Hamilton, MA. These wonderful and hard working folks just opened a farm stand on their property. This dream has been a long time coming and the doors have finally swung open! They have their own certified organic produce, fresh milk, cheese, butter and eggs and a variety of grass-fed and pasture raised meats! Oh, and all kinds of yummy local pantry items. If you're in this neck of the woods this weekend check them out and show some local love. They're open Wednesday - Friday 12-6 and Saturday/Sunday 10-4.

Stacey shared that this grand opening is important to them because there had been a farmstand on that property for many years and it's something that the community has missed. "It's a great way to welcome the public to the farm and engage with our neighbors."

And maybe you're scratching your beautiful heads and wondering why we would hype up what essentially smells like competition. As nauseating as it sounds, the small local food system is in many ways like an extended web of friends and family. We support each other, attend weddings, cook meals when the new baby arrives, drink (copious) beers and trade war stories. We're all tied by the mission of strengthening the local food system and we all get stronger and more competitive together

So yeah. Go see these beautiful people, buy some veggies and change the world. Tell them I said hi.

Grilled Tuna Tacos - We've got some lovely yellowfin tuna for most of you this week and one of my fav ways to prepare is in tacos.

Stuffed Pork Tenderloin with Chimichurri - I like this idea but will be doing this chimichurri. BTW, pastured-raised pork tenderloin is AMAZING. BTW Pt. 2, the chimichurri would be amazing on grilled tuna.

Thai Ground Beef Lettuce Wraps Recipe - I've praised the glory of larb before. This week, the ground beef from Cold Spring Ranch and the Bibb lettuce from Springworks are gonna get you fed. Healthy, fresh, flavorful. Tough to beat.
