I don't have to drill you on the stats here on gun violence, those are written and rewritten daily on our eyeballs in this country. And while each subsequent shooting leaves us feeling more and more helpless. Donating as a community to do what we can builds us back up, just a little bit. For some folks Mothers Day is a beautiful celebration of family, of connection. For others it's something to hold your breath and just move through, anticipating its passing. To all the moms out there; kid moms, dog and cat moms, moms who are trying again and again - cheers to you, please have some cake. To all the folks who are missing moms, or tending to moms or never knew mom at all, we see you and we wish we could hug you. Please have even more cake.

To my own mom (and Family Dinner customer who hates kale!), thank you. Thanks for supporting this wild vision, my stubborn nature and occasionally questionable decisions. None of this would be possible without you.
