Best gift ever!

The next best gift ever.

I am not going to sit here an pretend that we can offer you the actual best gift ever. Family Dinner doesn't sell coffee in bed, a day with no meetings and a new administration rooted in justice, democracy and equity. Sadly.

What we CAN offer is a few ways to give Family Dinner to those you love and want to fill up with good foods.

The first is a gift from us:

This week attached to your shares you'll find a green envelope that has little cards in it. Each is a gift of $25 dollars that you can slip into a stocking, a holiday card for your kid's teacher or just give to Rita at the office who tells inappropriate jokes. We would LOVE for you to gift them out and spread the love.

We have gift cards of all sizes. When you buy one you'll get a confirmation email that you can forward right on over to your special someone.

Today could be the day that you finally share your weekly treats with your family instead of eating them alone in the garage like a squirrel gourmand.

Then again, the world is melting. Keep the cookies to yourself.

Just a few ideas on what we (humbly) think might be the Second Best Gifts ever.

Basically anything would be better than the gift one of my oldest friends gave me years ago. Understanding how much I love "food" Gary thought it wise to buy me a DuraLog that smelled like Kentucky Friend Chicken. So when you need a fake, chemical induced fire in your apartment, it will fill your abode with the comforting aroma of KFC. Hyberole aside, it was one of the worst days of my life.

Other team inputs for the worst present ever include: a set of straws with buxom ladies in bikinis (thanks a lot, the Patriarchy), a series of WWJD apparel, and a boombox with Whitney and Hendrix cassettes which is actually the greatest present ever.

Please email us by Sunday evening if you'd like us to skip the order that is due to process on Monday! This would not be for the items listed above but for the following delivery. It really, REALLY helps us if you skip BEFORE orders process early Monday morning.

You can take us with you! Get in touch and we'll put together a custom package of goodies to keep you sated while you're enjoying the Cape or Bar Harbor. If you're expecting to be away for several weeks or months we can put your subscription on hold.

Recipes

Autumn Frost Squash Goodness - This is a dang tasty squash. Think more dense butternut. Three ideas, here. Pasta. Pasta again (but make it ravioli). Stuffed.

Chicken Florentine - I mean... this just seems perfect. Maybe you noticed that it's pretty damn cold outside? And this is just the right mix of hearty, quick and hey! It's chicken and spinach so it's good for you, right?

Haddock Sandwich - Erin happened to be passing through Portland recently and stopped to have some lunch. We met up at the legendary J's Oyster. After the cup of superlative fish chowder, the haddock sandwich was served and Erin procalimed, "This is the best fish sandwich I've ever had." She's not alone. This recipe is a decent approximation. BUT. If you can find them, one of the keys is the Botto's bun.
