Family Dinner is participating in two very exciting events in the coming weeks in Portland, Maine with some amazing partners coming together for great causes. At both events, we’ll be hanging out and drinking beers. Come say hey. We’d love to buy you a round!
 
At Oxbow’s Earth Day 2022 on Fri., April 22, we’ll be helping to fundraise for Farms for Food Equity. This non-profit, founded by Penny Jordan of Jordan’s Farm in Cape Elizabeth, is tackling food waste and hunger, issues at the core of what drives Family Dinner.
 
Per Farms for Food Equity: "We serve the current food-insecure residents and serve farm businesses that seek to maximize their harvest by providing off-grade, over-runs, and first-quality products to organizations that are working to address hunger.
 
On Sat., April 30th, we’ll be at Oxbow’s Farmhouse Funkadelic at Novare Res. We’ll be sourcing some tasty ME-grown products for a special Family Dinner menu and buying rounds of Farmland till the keg kicks. Farmland was brewed to raise money for Maine Farmland Trust and, in that spirit, Family Dinner and Novare Res will be making a donation to this worthwhile nonprofit.

Tortillería Pachanga - Very excited to be working with Lynne and Tortillería Pachanga. They spent the winter moving into a larger facility and are finally back to making delicious fresh tortillas made from local, organic corn. TACO NIGHT.
  • Fish Tacos - Tons of recipes and the best play on the mellow sweetness of seafood with brightness, creaminess and texture. The monkfish or pollock in shares this week would work wonderfully.
  • Grilled Chicken Tacos - One of my favorite things on earth. I use thighs, also in shares, and grill them on the bone with the skin on. If I'm feeling especially ambitious, I pull the skin off after and then toast them till super crispy and use as a garnish. 🤤
  • Tempeh Tacos - Back in my vegetarian days, tempeh tacos were an absolute staple. And the tempeh prep here is very versatile.
  • Spinach Tacos With Caramelized Onion, Fresh Cheese And Red Chile - Also one of my favorite things on earth.
  • Chorizo-Potato Tacos - Sensing a trend: tacos are one of my favorite things on earth.
Easy Taco Slaw - Texture on taco. Yes, please.

Pico de Gallo - Great on more than just tacos. Throw this on some grilled/pan roasted fish or just about any other protein.
 
Ground Beef Enchiladas - Okay... not tacos, but these look damn good.
