The Great Escape
Hi All,
First, a quick PSA: we're working diligently on our Independence Day offerings. Top of my list is going to be fresh, organic strawberries, whipping cream and frozen cream cheese biscuits for the ultimate strawberry shortcake. And then, of course, all the fixings you need for burgers, dogs and sausages. Stay tuned. Preorders will start next week.
Another PSA! Please leave your bags out for the drivers to take! We clean and sanitize them weekly and reuse them - helps us to be a low waste company. And good golly are they expensive! So whether you have 2 or 274, please leave them out (ice packs too!) and we will lovingly take 'em back. Merci!
Now, on to the show!
It's garlic scape season, people - the most wonderful time of the year. These alien looking muppets are the shoots that come out from hard neck garlic plants in the ground. As you harvest them it allows the plant to focus all its energy on cranking out bigger bulbs of garlic for the warding off of all vampires. You can get fancy (it's really not that fancy) and make a pesto and serve it on toast or with beans.
I like to cut them into little coins and throw them raw into salads or on top of pasta. The hard intensity of that first bite will bowl you over, an intensity you will chase long after they're gone - as with so many ephemeral delights.
Enjoy the scapes, enjoy the beautiful weather and enjoy the true delight of the anti-Trump chants from the Aussies in today's 3pm game.
Have a great day friends,
Erin
