So bright!

The winter is dreary and through it we march on in our puffy coats like overworked, underslept little marshmellows.

To brighten your days (and your shares!) we love to turn to the majesty of greenhouses to add a bit of variety and color into your shares. Last week it was the cheeky brightness of beefsteak tomatoes from Backyard Farm, whispering the promises of summer in your ear.

This week we have microgreens from our friends at Generation Farms,

James and Marley. The mircos are a spicy mix of pea, radish and sunflower. A perfect plus one to any dish.

Their story is a wonderful as can be, from their site.

"James is originally from Sleepy Hollow, NY and Marley is a NH native. We have degrees in History and Psychology respectively, but found our calling getting our hands dirty in the field. James was inspired by agriculture in Kyrgyzstan, where he lived during his time in the Peace Corps. His first farming experience was interning at the Stone Barns and Quail Hill in NY, before going on to be a field manager at Red Fire Farm in MA.

When James moved to NH to start his own farm, he met Marley while she was working at the local food cooperative in town. She asked to volunteer on the farm and the rest is history."

"We are grateful to be a part of the next generation in establishing more small sustainable farms for the health and longevity of our society and the environment."
