Happy Almost 4th of July and Happy Birthday to Erin's Mom Sally MacDonald who has received the formal ecclesiastical status of sainthood for putting up with Erin all these years.

We know you have kids to slather in sunscreen, hot dogs to eat and cold beer to wash all your stresses away so we will get right to it:

Flower season is back. Last year at this time I may have been more shadowy in spirit because I wrote a long snoozer of an email about Les Fleurs du Mal by Charles Baudelaire. While 19th century poetry about vermin, sadness and disease (like THIS little chestnut!) generally warm my arctic heart - I'll spare us all that guff. It's 2026 and we are brimming with optimism.

SO! Flower shares are back in their abundant beatitude. Add a bunch or a bouquet to your delivery each week and let us brighten up your day.

Oh, and it's time for some MORE SEASONAL GOODIES. We've added organic garlic scapes (farmers are sitting on sooooooo many garlic scapes) and some beautiful soft, summery herbs. Parsley, oregano, mint, cilantro, dill. Planning on doing a pickling bundle next week and soon: TOMATOES.

Also soon: fruit shares (squeeeee!!!!). Get ready to ward off any scurvy the long winter put upon you.

Boy. We're seeing all the produce goodies and even a nice change up in the fish dept. TUNA IS IN SEASON. Expect to see it a bit more frequently while they're available.

Perfectly Seared Ahi Tuna Steak - Will be serving atop:

Cone Head Cabbage Slaw - Would also be perfect on tacos.

Fennel and Tomato Panzanella with Homemade Ricotta - Boy does this scream weekend afternoon lunch. We've got you covered with the tomatoes, fennel and, for those getting double shares, the whole wheat round from Forge is the perfect bread for this. (Ricotta is fun and easy to make but is a project. Just get the good stuff.)

Sugarcone Cabbage Wedge with Dill Yogurt - I mean. Doubling down on cabbage?! I'm a wild man. But hey, we've got perfect, early summer dill. And yogurt. And this is delicious. I am who I am.
