A few tidbits of news:

Ribeyes are back baby! Just in time to have totally missed Father's Day! These beautiful cuts are from Gabe at Cold Spring Ranch in New Portland, Maine. They are 100% grass fed and pasture raised - an exceptional piece of meat. They are very limited so check 'em out!

We also have all kinds of beef offal. If you are interested in suet, bones, or offal - let us know.

We will NOT be delivering on Tuesday July 4th. All regularly scheduled deliveries for that day will take place on Wednesday July 5th.

I love this song, can you Turnip up!

Boy, oh boy do we love a produce based pun around here. We have the humor of a 70 year old dude in a Kenny Loggins t-shirt who lives off Coors Banquets and Werther's Originals** and we won't say sorry for it.

We love the puns ALMOST as much as the beautiful produce from Clark Farm. This week we have hakurei turnips as the star of the show. Speaking of the star of the show, did you see Andrew from Clark Farm on the Fam Din episode of New England Living? Made for the camera!

Back to the turnips. This Japanese variety of the veggie is sometimes called a salad turnip, as it's super crisp and can be eaten raw. We love to slice them really thinly onto sandwiches or salads. If by some miracle you have basil hummus left over from last week (so, so good), scoop some of it onto sliced turnips.

And don't neglect the greens. If you prefer to sautee your turnips, invite the greens to the party for a tasty side dish. Enjoy!

** Werther's Originals are inarguably delicious. I don't want to fight about this.

Recipes (MA)

Turnips with Greens in broth: Theres a chill in the air and storms on the way. I'm going to add a solid splash of soy sauce and sriracha to this broth to give it a zing.

Fish Fry: I know we want to be eating healthy and light. Sure sure sure. But fried fish is simple and absolutely delicious. Give it a go.

Ants on Log: Turn your celery into little boats of love. I'm going old school with PB and raisins. I'm a grown adult and these are my snacks.

Celery Soup: I love this dish and will add a strong fistful of chopped garlic to mine. Nice way to use the greens as well.

Recipes (ME + NH)

Garlic Scape Pasta with Parmesan Cream Sauce - Scapes! Their season is brief so make the most out of it. They're super versatile. In this recipe, you basically make a pesto and toss with some pasta. The fresh pasta from Solo Cucina would be perfect. It's almost like we planned it...

Chicken Piccata - Magic happens when you combine lemon, capers and butter. An easy weeknight meal that's a total crowd pleaser.

Sole with Lemon Cream - Mmmm... more butter and protein. Quick to whip up and tasty.

Fish Baked with Dijon Dill Pretzel Crust - My nuclear family's love of pretzels knows no bounds. My mom has done this with chicken breast many, many times (would def recommend) and it'd be great with the lovely hake from True Fin.
