We're so excited to have asparagus back in the shares this week. The season is short so we love to it as much play time as possible.

There are so many ways to enjoy this, in pasta, on a tarte, plain with butter - just don't over cook it. It goes from the perfectly crisp spear to a mushy wand in the time it takes to say "what the hell is a Vanderpump rules?". So take your time with it, be delicate and let all the summery deliciousness be the star of your plates.

Beef Kabobs - You can fire up the grill for these or simply use the oven. Any marinade, or BBQ sauce that sings to you will go nicely.

Asparagus Tart - You've likely seen this recipe before, I haul it out every year because its that dang tasty. You can be creative with the cheese. Don't have fontina? Parm, mozz, even blue cheese can step in.

Lemony Pasta with Asparagus - Comfy for the cold snap but still a bright bowl full.

Recipes (ME + NH)

Slow-Cooked Carnitas Tacos - Country ribs seem to be a criminally underutilized cut of pork. We love them in our household. Especially for carnitas where you basically run through the first phase of confit-ing before crisping either by turning up the heat and frying while they're still hanging in their fat or put the cooked meat under the broiler briefly. I'd def recommend doing so despite this recipe omitting that step. SO. GOOD.

Curry Coconut Braised Collard Greens with Potatoes and Chickpeas - Kinda tough finding recipes for collard greens that aren't rooted in the classic southern style. You can pretty much always use them in place of other hearty greens like spinach, chard and kale. This one here is a nice change of pace and packs some serious flavor. Also: incidentally vegan!

Asparagus With Green Garlic - Holy freakin' spring on a plate. Would serve this alongside/under any sort of protein, like some baked hake, but I also like the idea of a couple poached eggs on this son of a gun.

Radish, Green Garlic and Turnip Hash with Fried Eggs - I guess wanting to throw an egg on the above recipe is really a sign that I just want this. 🤷🏻‍♂️
