Spotlight on a New Product

BONE BROTH DEBUT

We have a new product in the store and just in time for this delightful bout of New England weather. At Family Dinner, we love us a good soup and we're near fanatical about Bone Broth.  We're such big fans that we are starting a wee musical group to sing its praises, we're calling it "Bone Broth Thugs and Harmony". Our first hit, The CrossBones is forthcoming.  ( Reference, for anyone born after 1995, can be found here.)

A warm cup of bone broth is comforting, like a fleece sweater for your mouth. And it's great for you to boot!  This offering comes to you from Vernon Family Farm in Newfields, NH. Jeremiah and Nicole Vernon farm on 33 acres of conserved land along with their three beautiful daughters and menagerie of animals. 

Their chicken bone broth makes a great base for soup and is perfect to sip on for extra nutrition. A technically correct bone broth is one that--after cooking and cooling--thickens like jello. That's right, this bone broth is full of nourishing, gut-healing gelatin, collagen, minerals, and amino acids. We will have two options; Foundation (just chicken and water) and Vitality (hellooo turmeric and ginger!). We hope you love them!

Vernon Farms Chicken Sausage is also making its way into the Massachusetts shares this week. We hope you love it!

Creamy Mushroom Tempeh - Check out what's in your pantry and make any needed substitutions!

Scallion Pancakes - because, yes. Or take those scallions in with a clear soup! 

Swedish Apple Pie - This is my favorite ways to bake apples. The crust couldnt be easier 1 stick butter, 1 egg, 1 C flour and sugar - easy peasey AND the fruit (the best part of any pie) is the main focal point (in my opinion). 

Fried Onions and Apples - Okay. I know pork isn't one the menu this week but if you have a back log in your freezer I'd recommend these together....

Pizza night! Lotsa great veg and protein options for the Rosemont pizza dough. Have at it. For the dough, defrost overnight in the fridge and then a few hours before you plan to shape it, let it rise, covered, on your counter. It'll be way easier to work with.
 
Olive Oil Poached Salmon - Oil poaching fish is not only pretty fool proof but an amazing way to add some flavor (plus the texture is downright dreamy). And would definitely serve alongside:
 
Garlic Sautéed Spinach  - One of the easiest side dishes of all time. And tasty as hell. (Top with some chunky/herby/buttery bread crumbs for some delightful crunch.)
 
Spicy Italian Sausage Rigatoni - So dang delicious and comes together in no time.
 
Creamy Mushroom Soup - Classic. If you’ve never made a homemade version with good mushrooms, now’s the time.
 
Rocket Soup (Shorbat Jarjir)  - If you’re not putting the arugula on your pizza (you should) or alongside your salmon (you should), make this soup (you should).
 
Vegan Palak “Paneer” - Sub the fresh cheese for some tofu and bam: vegan deliciousness.
