Good Morning!

Before you start drooling all over your phone whilst gazing at the Dark Chocolate Seed'nola from 88 Acres (more on that later), a quick note:

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBAAAAALL? The Superbowl is coming up next Sunday, February 7th and we are partnering with Trina's Starlite Lounge (our favorite place and our favorite people) to bring you all the snacky delights you crave.  Chili, Corn Bread, Queso, Mac & Cheese and more.  Sure, we're all still a little bit salty that Brady defected South and took Gronk, everyone's favorite dumb Golden Retriever, with him. But it's time to move on, dry your eyes with some corn bread and focus on the half time show that's full of artists I'm not cool enough to know lip syncing to songs I've never heard.

Football not your thing? Sunday, February 7th is also National Periodic Table Day (not kidding). So order up some Chili and get crazy trying to remember where the halogens go.

Whatever you're celebrating, treat yourself to some delicious comfort food made by some wonderful folks. Note: This is ONLY for delivery on Saturday, Feb 6th.

POWERED BY SEEDS

This week we are teaming up with the folks at 88 Acres to bring you their delicious seed bars and Seed'nola. 88 Acres is a local business thoughtfully crafting bars and pantry staples with whole seeds and simple ingredients. I met owner Rob Dalton while we were both undergrads at UMass Amherst roughly in the Mesozoic Era while dinosaurs roamed the earth. (Fun fact: Chef Karen from Fox & the Knife was also on campus then. Go, Zoo Mass!)

I had the pleasure of catching up with Rob to learn about the company, the mission, and how he almost died on one of his first dates with his wife and co-founder Nicole:

Nicole grew up on an 88-acre farm in North Brookfield, Massachusetts where her passion for food began. When she met Rob on Match.com many years later, he had a severe allergic reaction on their fourth date that landed him in the hospital and her in the kitchen. They started 88 Acres as a marriage of their two stories. But they also started 88 Acres to be a different kind of food company. One that makes delicious food that everyone can enjoy, with or without a food allergy. One that never compromises on quality or flavor. And one that celebrates its hard-working team. 88 Acres began as a love story between two people, but has grown to encompass a passionate community brought together by the power of good food.

We are excited to share their fresh from the bakery treats with you. They are free of grains, gluten, dairy, and soy, so everyone can enjoy. Keep an eye on the store, the Seed'nola and their insanely addictive Dark Chocolate Sunflower Seed Butter will be making their way in this weekend!

RECIPES

(from Shannon)

Flounder and Pesto - Oh, my! White fish with pesto! Sign me up!

Baked Pesto Chicken - I'd come up with a funny comment about this one, but I think I'd rather just imagine eating it right now.

Eat your winter radishes! - Along with being beautiful on the inside and delicious, radishes (especially white daikon) can play an important role for soil aeration in a farmer's no-till tool kit.

Winter Root Veg Pasta Salad - Use whatever roots you may have hanging around and the radishes will add a beautiful color to this salad!!

Campanelle - What is this type of pasta? Well, it translates to "Bellflower" in English and holds up well with hardy veg (see above), fish, chicken, or tomato based recipes! So many opportunities!
