Ginger, Butts and TEDx

This week we have three little updates for you.

We were so thrilled to be back on the TEDx Natick stage this Spring to talk about navigating the pandemic, fighting food insecurity and crying like a baby in your overalls. The wonderful TEDx Natick team published these talks this week and we are thrilled. (Note: I had just overcome a delightful case of bronchitis so please forgive me for sounding like a squeak toy.)

Giving that presentation was a touch emotional for us, it was a reminder of the bumpy arc of the past few years, about steering through the choppy waters of COVID. But it also was a reminder how so many of you were there for us, encouraging us and standing by this small company that could. We got so many lovely emails and kind words during that time. I keep them all in a folder called "NICE SHIT" that I read when skies are grey.

Onward! We are adding BONELESS PORK BUTTS to the store. This certified organic pork hails from Brookford Farm in Canterbury, NH. They are around 2# each and ready to make the pulled pork of your dreams.

Finally, we have fresh, organic, local ginger from Red Fire Farm. This bright snappy ginger has so much more punch and flavor than its grocery store cousin. Buy a bunch, peel and freeze it. Then you have it on hand for all your marinades and ginger noodle dishes. While you're at it, drop some in your tea, smoothies or... better yet - hot toddy. (Pro tip: the greens also make excellent tea or a nice addition to some stock.)

Maple Glazed Carrots- The maple with salt and red pepper make a delightful trio.

Sausage and Onions- No need to overthink this. You could make your house feel like Fenway Park and serve in on a roll or scoop it all up onto a bed of buttered rice.

Fish Curry - Having coconut milk in the pantry and a few spices makes this easy. Add in extra veggies you have kicking around - carrots, onions potatoes and a pepper or two.

Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili With Sweet Potatoes - First sweet potatoes of the season! "Little bit of prep and then you just set it and forget it. Come back 8 hrs. later and it feels like you cheated."

Roasted Broccolini - I love broccolini and this is a simple and tasty way to prepare. Personally, I like to push it and get a good amount of crispy char. Great side for just about anything.
