Moon hits your eye...

Good morning,

It's pizza week here at Family Dinner which has a singing the ole Dean Martin chestnut "That's Amore" (yes, we are very, very old). I feel like everyone knows the first line, "When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amorrrreeee".

But the latter verse, which is just as bizarrely iconic, is lesser known:

"When the stars make you drool
Just like a pasta e fasule, that's amore"

That's some next level stuff there, Dean Martin. Crooning away about the intersection of drool and love and bean soup of all goddamn things? Impressive.

Moving on.

There is so much that can be done with the beautiful pizza dough from A&J King (pictured). For the straight up version we also have loaded your shares up with fresh mozz and tomatoes as we squeeze ever little last breath out of summer. And we asked Andy from A&J King what to do with the dough:

"Not sure what to do with this bag of dough? Other than letting it sit out for a few minutes and stretching it out into your favorite pizza pan, or folding it over on itself to make the perfect calzone, this dough is eminently grillable. Heat your coals or gas grill as you would to cook a steak, spritz the grates with some baking spray, and quickly flop the stretched out dough onto the grill! Flip when you see dark brown grill marks on one side, and finish it off. You’ll know it’s done when you poke the thickest part and it bounces back. Pair with everything from hummus to grilled veggies to pulled pork! Or just tear it up while warm and dunk it in spiced olive oil. "

And he should know. His wife Jackie, who has the dreary honor of being one of my oldest and dearest friends, can eat a whole pizza faster than anyone I have ever seen. So if in some bizarre universe Jackie shows up at your house while your grilling your pizza dough and challenges you to a pizza eating competition; say no, my friends. You don't stand a chance.
