Come Meet Your Farmers

We love to gab about the farmers that we have the privilege to work with - they are our partners and our friends.

This is Andrew Rodgers, owner of Clark Organic Farm in Carlisle, MA. We have been working with Andrew, Amanda and their team for years. We sit down at the beginning of each season and map out what we will need in what quantity for that period. Andrew and the crew can then procure seeds, plant, grow and harvest with the confidence that everything they are growing already has a guaranteed marketplace. These crops are being grown specifically for Family Dinner, with your plates in mind.

We're also dear friends. We tell each other terrible jokes, attend weddings and check in when life gets a little rocky. It's a real gift.

You being a part of Family Dinner has actual impact. It helps support the incredible work of folks like Andrew and keeps rippling through our communities. So thank you!

This week the fields at Clark have offered us honeynut squash (a favorite!) and caraflex cabbage [a favorite of mine! - JG]. We hope you love them.

Please email us by Sunday evening if you'd like us to skip the order that is due to process on Monday! This would not be for the items listed above but for the following delivery. It really, REALLY helps us if you skip BEFORE orders process early Monday morning.

You can take us with you! Get in touch and we'll put together a custom package of goodies to keep you sated while you're enjoying the Cape or Bar Harbor. If you're expecting to be away for several weeks or months we can put your subscription on hold.

Roasted Honeynut Squash with Lentils - As mentioned, we're big fans of honeynut squash. They're delicious, perfectly sized for versatility, cute as a button and, because we're 3rd graders, jokes abound! Here, we're looking at an amazing main that stretches the squash out with lentils. It's great as leftovers too, cold from the fridge.

Savoury Oven-Roasted Honeynut Squash - And here, we're looking at a super tasty side. I'd quarter them; one is plenty to feed four as a side.

Caraflex Cabbage With Anchovy Butter and Golden Raisins - CABBAGE. I've sung its praises numerous times. I've not made this but this is definitely what's happening over here. Feels both homey and special at the same time.
